BeautyX is not a blog, rather it is an online community to share and discover beauty products that solve your needs or help you create a new look. Find Products, Solve your Needs Browse products and read reviews written by women like you. Learn the fundamentals on product categories or go to the concerns section to learn how to create a product regimen to address needs like discoloration or dry hair.
Discover New Looks Browse LookBooks – a photo along with products used - posted by other users. Search by style and filter users by their hair type or skin tone. Find your beauty inspiration!
Share Your Own LookBooks Create a LookBook to share a style and your favorite products with the community. If you blog, link to your website or YouTube tutorial where users can find more!
Why BeautyX?
Have you ever found yourself frustrated and confused about how to stop hair breakage or find makeup for your skin tone? Spent a ton of money on beauty products that were left unfinished? Do you stop other women of color in passing to ask which products they use? Surely every woman of color should not have to go through such a process before finding reliable information on products! But many of us do, and unfortunately most mainstream beauty sites and product reviews are not relevant for our skin tones and hair needs.
BeautyX was created so that women of color could share and discover beauty product solutions, and get inspired by the online beauty community!
Who is Behind BeautyX?
As an engineer and beauty product junkie at MIT, Jamira Cotton first became obsessed with the online beauty world. While at Harvard Business School, she decided to contribute to solving the beauty pain points for women of color, and worked with other women to create BeautyX.
You’ll never find Jamira without a stock of Mac Fix+ and Joico K-Pak conditioner, and she can’t wait to hear about what you love, too!
